A new study shows that eating a diet rich in fiber can actually increase longevity! We already know that fiber lowers cholesterol levels, controls blood sugars in diabetics and lowers the risk of heart disease. Increase fiber through whole grains, seeds and nuts and fresh fruits and vegetables. Recommend 25 grams of fiber a day!

Saturday, February 26th, 2011Several studies have shown that music has the capacity to heal. Of all the musical instruments known to man, it is the human voice that is most promising, especially in fighting abnormal cells. Fabian Maman and his research showed that cancer cells (breast cancer cells) we unable to withstand the vibrational effect from prolonged ‘toning’ which is the conscious elongation of a sound using the breath and voice. With 3 to 4 hours a day of continuous ‘toning’, studies show that tumors shrank and in some cases disappeared.
The purpose of ‘Voice Toning’ is to restore the vibrational balance to your entire body, including every cell in your body.
How to Tone….Take the primary vowel sound from your name, take a deep breath and tone the sound slowly. Allow it to find its own volume and length of sound. Repeat for 5 minutes. You will be amazed at how you will start feeling if you keep this practice.

Saturday, February 12th, 2011The brains of people who took a mindfulness-based stress reduction course showed significant and beneficial changes at the level of the cells themselves. One area that showed increase in gray matter brain mass was the hippocampus, which is important in learning and memory. Research has shown meditation’s positive effects on a range of conditions from anxiety to chronic pain to ADHD. This study was conducted at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. During the program participants took weekly classes, were given audio recordings and logged average of 27 minutes spent meditating each day. The results was phenomenal with improved brain mass in areas linked to self-awareness, introspection and compassion.

Walking helps prevent memory loss
Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011Walking 5 to 6 miles per week slowed cognitive decline. This was true of healthy adults as well as those with cognitive impairment, including Alzheimer’s. Walking can improve the brain’s resistance to disease and reduce memory loss over time, even in healthy adults!
Brain scans show that greater amounts of walking during the previous 10 years were associated with greater brain volumes.

The Lord’s Prayer
Sunday, January 30th, 2011As soon as we begin to say ‘Our Father’, we must be mindful that we are intimately related to Jesus because we are addressing His Father as our Father. The word ‘our’ not only refers to me in relationship with Jesus, but everyone else in relationship to him. God as a Father figure, not some distant concept or ideology. As followers of Christ, we address His Father as Our Father too!
